Client overview

Mitsui Chemicals Europe GmbH, headquartered in Düsseldorf, is part of the globally
globally active chemical company Mitsui Chemicals Inc. founded in 1997, the subsidiary of the traditional Japanese company
oncentrates primarily on the production, distribution and distribution and marketing of Mitsui Chemicals products in the automotive the automotive, food and packaging, and healthcare sectors.
The challenge
A decentralized
Organization
Mitsui Chemicals Europe was faced with the challenge of making increasingly complex sales and demand planning more efficient. The previous solutions based on Microsoft SQL, Access and Excel were not only time-consuming and inflexible, but also did not offer sufficient depth of detail for precise forecasts and reports. These limitations made it difficult to adapt to the dynamic requirements of the market and called for a more powerful planning environment.

The solution
- Sascha Geng, Director Performance Controlling
To solve the existing challenges in sales and demand planning, Mitsui Chemicals Europe introduced a customized planning application based on Jedox together with the HICO Group in 2017. This new solution significantly simplified and accelerated the planning processes, enabled
agile adjustments and integrated standard reporting directly into the platform. On this basis, Mitsui Chemicals was able to react more efficiently to market requirements and improve planning quality. In a further step, the planning environment was expanded to include “Predictive Forecast”,
a module of the Jedox AIssisted Planning solution. This module made it possible to create precise sales forecasts based on a continuously growing database. After just a short time, Mitsui achieved forecast accuracy of up to 95% for several product groups.
Future Outlook
Mitsui Chemicals Europe plans to further expand the existing Jedox platform and link sales planning with production and purchasing. The continuously growing database is intended to further optimize both the accuracy of forecasts and the efficiency of planning.
