"Static, cumbersome, uncertain," is how Frank Hefner, Business Analyst BI at the LSG Group, describes the company's initial situation. The previous process for executive management reporting was characterized by manual activities and required time-consuming data preparation, validation, and commenting. The software used for creating the monthly closing report could no longer meet the increasing demands. The data was not always reliable, and report creation was tedious. There was a particular lack of automation and a flexible, user-friendly solution that could make data visualization and analysis more efficient.

The solution
The HICO-Group implemented the BI platform Qlik Sense for the LSG Group, combined with the in-house extension TRUECHART. During the implementation, a comprehensive data model was developed and standardized data consolidation was set up, enabling automatic integration of data from different source systems.
TRUECHART complements Qlik Sense with centrally controllable commenting functions and adherence to the International Business Communication Standards (IBCS) for the visual representation of business metrics. The solution also includes the development of an authorization
concept that ensures a user-specific data view, as well as the integration of a two-stage workflow for decentralized capture and central validation of management comments. These technical enhancements made the entire reporting process of the LSG Group more efficient and standardized.
