Vision X Future 2025 – Data Management Summit

Vision X Future | March 13., 2025 | Doors: 09:00 a.m. | Location: Radisson Blu, Zurich Airport (maps)

“After the vision is before the vision” – this phrase has become quite a common saying among the HICO team. Why? Well, for one thing, development doesn’t just stand still. We experience innovations in AI, data and BI on a monthly basis!

On the other hand – and this will not change any time soon – innovation and progress only work when TEAMS are involved. By keeping each other up to date, inspiring each other, sharing best practices … and maybe even talking about what we’ve learned from our latest projects.

Agenda

We don’t want to repeat the success of previous events. We want to increase it. You can therefore look forward with us to …

… inspiring presentations: Inspiring speakers from BI, finance and data science, including from companies such as Qlik, Microsoft and JEDOX, tell the stories that data writes.

… Keynotes that get you excited about data: Charts are dry subject matter and really just a means to an end? IBCS President and chart expert Rolf Hichert is happy to prove the opposite!

… Exclusive breakout sessions and discussion panels in which experts share exclusive insights and learnings from client projects – because you don’t necessarily have to make all mistakes yourself to learn from them!

The finalized program will be announced here step by step.

Participation in VisionXFuture is free of charge. We ask you to confirm or cancel your participation so that we have a functioning – well: data basis.

Themen und Speaker

Geneve – CPO, TRUECHART

TRUECHART+. The data collaboration software with writeback function

Geneve Schwan, TRUECHART

Companies such as Siemens, Novartis and Qiagen use TRUECHART as a Qlik or POWER BI extension for visualizing data in the IBCS standard and for commenting and collaborating directly on data points.

TRUECHART PLUS is the second generation of our software with new, extended functions and an improved UX. Geneve Schwan demonstrates the use of TRUECHART using the example of ESG reports. (Presentation in English Language)

Geneve Schwan, Chief Product Officer TRUECHART

Increasing productivity with standards: a look into the future of reporting

Rolf Hichert, IBCS Institut

In ten years’ time, our dashboards will achieve the same standard of quality that we have seen in musicians and engineers for a hundred years.

Renouncing individuality and corporate design: Composers also want to be judged by their music and not by the beauty of their notes.

Clarity through standards: Without uniform standards, all communication remains ambiguous and inefficient.

Increased information density: With at least a thousand values per page and one minute of viewing time, we have caught up with the musicians and engineers.

AI – the data (r)evolution? Use cases between hype and real added value

Max Kuhn & Ben Gnädig, HICO

Everyone is talking about AI. But do we all mean the same thing?

What really moves the industry? What is possible? What is already being done? And: What is a dream of the future?

There is a LOT of potential between AI, LLMs, GPTs and algorithms. And where there is hype, there is also potential for misunderstandings.

Max Kuhn, AI Consultant at HICO, puts things in perspective. Because they do exist – the really useful use cases that are often overlooked in all the hype surrounding GPTs and GenAI.

The presentation is not only intended to classify, but also to provide impetus for the discussions at the subsequent Marketplace.

KPIs on the ROKS? – Increasing performance through key performance indicators with a claim to leadership.

Thomas Bodenmann

Reporting and charts – not a particularly appealing topic for everyone. Perhaps because you have to look at them from a different angle? Thomas Bodenmann sees KPIs as enablers – if you formulate them correctly. The Hügli CEO uses a real case study to demonstrate the ROKS KPI standard and how it can be used to lead companies to success: the transformation of an SME into a strategy-compliant, standardized and KPI-based management and control system using individually created reporting charts presented in the best light.

Thomas Bodenmann’s most recent career position was CEO of Hügli, the food manufacturer that has been part of the Bell Food Group since 2018, and he is a proven ROKS expert. Before taking responsibility for various strategic areas at Hügli, including the overall business, Bodenmann worked at Benckiser and Sucrin. Bodenmann is Vice President of Culinaria Suisse and Culinaria Europe.

Review: VisionXFuture September 2024

The September edition of VisionXFuture also featured an enormous range of first-class presentations and talks: After the obligatory welcome of the more than one hundred guests by the HICO CxOs, we were able to delve into the depths (and shallows!) of planning with Dr. Rolf Gegenmantel (JEDOX) and eliminate biases in planning and analysis with AI.

Steffen Bischoff (Qlik) explained how to achieve one of the absolute prerequisites for working with AI in the first place and pleaded for clean data for a clear future.

Gellert Gintli from the rather lesser-known digital company Microsoft took up the baton and bridged the gap between the on-premise world that is often still to be found and the Microsoft Fabric analysis solution.

In a surprisingly humorous presentation – considering the title – on IBCS and ISO 24896 as notation standards for reports, Dr. Jürgen Faisst from IBCS came around the corner with the message that we are obviously not as far along as we would like to be in data storytelling. And red roses from … Barcelona!

Alexander Seeliger, analyst and data scientist at the research institute BARC, presented the study The Future of BI & Analytics sponsored by HICO and QLIK – and spoke in particular about the “gap” that often exists between hype and reality.

Find out more: Download the full study from spring 2024 and the subsequent spotlight study from fall 2024 here.

Meanwhile, in breakout sessions, HICO experts Max Kuhn and Ben Gnädig traced the data evolution that has made AI applications necessary, Rene Gerhardt led through the tension between planning and analytics in JEDOX, AI expert Melanie Kloppenburg asked about AI readiness (and answered with an assessment for companies, companies that want or need to take the plunge into cold AI waters), SOLUVIA experts Stefan Luedke and Tobias Beclin presented an exciting customer case on the integration of performance reports in Power BI and Geneve Schwan gave an update on TRUECHART development.
