What can the Microsoft Data Fabric do?
"Microsoft's Data Fabric is a comprehensive platform from Microsoft designed to help organizations effectively manage, analyze and derive insights from their data. This platform integrates various tools, services and technologies that cover the entire data lifecycle. Microsoft Data Fabric enables organizations to capture, store and process large volumes of data. The platform enables data to be integrated from multiple sources, such as databases, cloud storage, IoT devices and more. This allows companies to get a comprehensive view of their data and see connections that help them make better decisions. One of the key strengths of Microsoft Data Fabric is its scalability. Companies can customize the platform according to their growing data requirements and easily process large volumes of data. This enables efficient data analysis and opens up opportunities for real-time analytics, where companies can respond quickly to changes and trends. Microsoft Data Fabric also offers advanced analytics capabilities, including machine learning, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics. These capabilities allow companies to build complex models to gain insights from their data, identify trends and predict future developments. This enables them to make data-driven decisions and optimize their business processes." Michael Schwan, CEO HICO Group
How Customer Centricity is measured with the NPS
"Customer Centricity is a strategic approach where companies put the customer at the center of their business activities. It is about understanding customer needs and expectations, improving their experience and offering products or services that meet their requirements. Companies can thus achieve differentiated positioning. Customer Centricity also involves actively listening to and incorporating customer feedback. To this end, we use the Net Promoter Score NPS, which provides measurable customer feedback in response to the question: would you recommend us to your best friend? By responding to and using customer feedback to continuously improve their products, services and processes, companies can drive innovation. Customers become valuable sources of ideas and suggestions, leading to a better customer experience and increased competitiveness. Customer Centricity is our philosophy and the foundation of our value framework, NPS our measurement method." Bastian Lossen, CCO HICO Group

ESG Sustainability Reporting: Environment, Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance in Business Planning
"In recent years, awareness of sustainable and responsible business practices has grown steadily. One approach that is becoming increasingly important is the integration of environment, social and governance (ESG) factors into corporate decision-making processes. ESG considerations are increasingly influencing investment decisions as investors recognise that sustainable and socially responsible companies are better able to manage risk and create long-term value. Asset managers and institutional investors are integrating ESG analysis into their investment strategies to identify companies with superior ESG performance. ESG is becoming an increasingly important issue. Because in future, due to stricter regulations, many smaller companies in Germany and the EU will also have to face the challenge of ESG reporting requirements. They will then have to measure, evaluate and disclose their performance in terms of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This has led to the emergence of ESG rating agencies and indices that rate and rank companies based on their ESG practices." Dr Rolf Gegenmantel, Chief Product Officer & Chief Marketing Officer, Jedox
Key Note: ESG AND KI - THE DIGITAL GAME CHANGER!
"ESG can be mapped in an automated way through a cloud-based IT infrastructure and thus also meet the requirements of the taxonomy according to external benchmark sizes. An example: a German company is required by its American investors to set up monthly ESG reporting. To meet these requirements, the company could either hire five to six controllers hardly available on the market or largely automate ESG reporting. To this end, a cloud-based IT infrastructure is currently being set up to install a data exchange platform with the integrated data warehouse, into which all existing IT systems will be connected. All data flowing from the systems can be stored, harmonized and processed in the data warehouse so that the necessary ESG indicators can be reported. The data warehouse is enriched with additional external data sources in order to obtain benchmarking with comparable ESG key figures. This process is then fully automated, saving the company from having to build an expensive team to collect ESG metrics." And we'll reveal how you can then use this structure to leverage AI during our keynote on Oct. 26. Dr. Andreas Dahmen, Managing Director and Partner of GHK Management Consulting GmbH and Professor at accadis University Bad Homburg until March 2023

Stop Excel Around! High-end data management at Pernod-Ricard
"Pernod Ricard, one of the world's leading companies in the beverage industry, has achieved great success in HR controlling with the help of the Jedox platform. The most important goal was the centralisation of data: Pernod Ricard had a big challenge in collecting and consolidating HR data from different countries and departments. The Jedox platform enabled the company to collect all relevant HR data in one central location. This led to improved data integrity, consistent reports and a unified database for HR controlling. Before the introduction of Jedox, there were many manual HR processes that were run in Excel and were time-consuming. With Jedox, the company was able to automate many of these processes, resulting in significant time and resource savings. For example, reports, dashboards and analytics could be created with just a few clicks, rather than manual data collation and formatting. Ad hoc analysis and simulations were now possible: Jedox also enabled Pernod Ricard to perform ad hoc analysis and simulations to test different scenarios and make informed decisions. For example, the company was able to analyse the impact of personnel actions, such as new hires and promotions, on costs and performance. By integrating Jedox into its existing IT infrastructure, Pernod Ricard was able to improve its HR controlling capabilities without completely replacing its existing systems." Stefan Spielvogel, Lead Consultant Planning, HICO Group
Modern Reporting with Qlik Sense and TRUECHART at QIAGEN
"We wanted to replace standard reporting in PowerPoint and introduce automated integrated management reporting that would bring more transparency to market development and operational performance. And the whole thing should be visualized in the IBCS(R) standard. The commenting options were another argument why we chose Qlik Sense in a bundle with TRUECHART. Qlik Sense is very well received by our colleagues - the intensity of use has risen steadily and thus also the number of decisions that are made on the basis of facts. There has been a significant increase in the efficiency of reporting, I estimate up to 70 percent time savings. Performance has also improved significantly; we can now easily load all transactional data from the last five years for sales analyses and still analyze it with high performance. The expansion of the Qlik application landscape is in the planning stage. We are tying in Salesforce to map performance reporting with Leading Indicator for sales." Martin Szilagyi, Manager Reporting and Analytics at QIAGEN
Talend and Snowflake accelerate A.T.U.
"We were looking for an integration tool that, in conjunction with Snowflake, would make it easy to convert the previous DWH. With Talend, we found the tool, because the systems work together excellently. Off to the cloud with an efficient move of heterogeneous data sets: with Talend and Snowflake, we can seamlessly move data from different sources and formats into the Snowflake environment. Talend's high-performance bulk loading capability enables large volumes of data to be loaded into Snowflake quickly and efficiently, accelerating data integration processes. Finally, cost is also an issue: improved performance and efficiency of data processing, as well as the ability to efficiently process large volumes of data in Snowflake, allows us to make our data analytics more cost-effective. And we are well prepared for the future: with improved scalability, we can seamlessly adapt the system to increasing data volumes and queries without compromising performance. Talend and Snowflake, a great combination! The experts at HICO Group will set up the systems at our site and get them up and running." Manfred Kraus, Data Analyst Special Projects at A.T.U.
Why the writeback function delivers superior results in data analysis
"An important feature that exists in such analytics tools is what is called the writeback function. This function allows users to write data directly back into the analytics tool to make updates, adjustments or additions, it allows users to update data in real time. This is particularly useful when data is constantly changing or new data is added. With the writeback function, users can edit and adjust data in the analysis tools without having to access external applications or databases. Writeback also facilitates collaboration and workflow within a team or organisation. Multiple users can edit, comment and update data in real time, achieving a common understanding and smooth collaboration. Errors can also be quickly identified and immediately corrected without having to resort to external tools or manual processes. And: with the writeback function, users can run hypothetical scenarios or "what-if" analyses. They can change variables, add data points or enter alternative data to explore the impact on results. This feature opens up new possibilities for decision-making and planning. TRUECHART is the market-leading writeback analytics tool for Qlik and Power BI." Geneve Schwan, Chief Product Officer TRUECHART
Internet of Things - Room Sensors
"The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of physical devices, sensors, actuators and other objects that are connected and can exchange data. Space sensing in the IoT involves the use of sensors to detect and monitor different aspects of an environment. These sensors can measure temperature, humidity, light, sound levels, motion and more. By continuously collecting data, they allow us to get a comprehensive picture of the conditions and events in a room or environment. In smart homes, for example, these sensors can help improve energy efficiency by automatically regulating heating or air conditioning based on the temperature and humidity levels they detect. In offices and other work environments, sensors can be used to monitor room occupancy and optimize space utilization. In hospitals, sensors can be used to monitor air quality and minimize infection risks. The collected data can be analyzed in various ways to generate insights and added value. By applying algorithms and machine learning, patterns and trends can be identified to make predictions and take reactive measures. Freya Pelz, Data & Cloud Specialist, HICO-Group
Big Data, Machine Learning and Salary Forecasting
Big Data can come from a variety of sources, such as social media, transactions, sensors and much more. Big Data offers immense opportunities to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions. In conjunction with Big Data, Machine Learning has become a powerful tool. Machine learning refers to the ability of computers to learn algorithms and generate predictions or patterns based on large amounts of data. The combination of Big Data and Machine Learning has opened the door for Predictive Analytics. Predictive analytics refers to the use of data analysis and statistical models to predict future events or outcomes. For example, companies can collect and analyze large amounts of salary data. This can take into account various factors that influence salaries, such as work experience, educational qualifications, location and industry. By using machine learning, complex models can be developed that take all these factors into account and can provide more accurate salary estimates." Ben Gnädig, Lead Consultant Data & Cloud, HICO-Group
Deindustrialization in Germany? An in-depth overview.
Industry is regarded as the leading sector of the German economy because it accounts for a high proportion of our jobs and our value added. Nevertheless, German industry is currently under pressure from all sides: A lack of economic stimulus, high energy prices and excessive bureaucracy are hampering development. Many of the problems are not new: So can we already talk about deindustrialization in Germany? The question must be fathomed on the basis of three indicators: Jobs, value added and investment. For each of these parameters, we observe different developments in the recent past and also different prospects for the future. What is clear, however, is that Germany as a business location must reposition itself in many areas if we are to maintain our leading position for industry.
